My reason for becoming a teacher is to contribute to my worldwide community in a meaningful way. Teaching is one of the most direct ways I feel I can make an impact, and I am driven by the desire to help those around me and people I have never met. Being a teacher is an invaluable contribution, I can’t save the world, but I can help people explore it. I ask a lot of questions. This directly engages students in the material and gives them opportunities to achieve a level of mastery. Teach by discovery. Students find it as satisfying as reasoning through a problem and discovering the underlying principle on their own. When a teacher is an inspiration for students, they challenge students to use their imagination, intellect, and expectations. They also form a bond of mutual trust and respect with their students. Sometimes they invite the students to be a part of their learning journey too.
